The New Council of bank Citadele was elected in an extraordinary shareholder meeting held on 11 August 2010. The following members have been appointed – Klāvs Vasks, Juris Vaskāns, Ģirts Freibergs, Laurence Phillip Adams and Geoffrey Dunn.
Additionally to previously nominated Members of Citadele’s Council – Klāvs Vasks and Juris Vaskāns, and the former Member of Parex banka’s Supervisory Council – Laurence Phillips Adams, Ģirts Freibergs, a professional with 10 years of experience in various enterprises in the financial industry, and Geoffrey Dunn, a professional from Nothern Rock, were elected as well. Prior to appointment in bank’s Citadele Council Mr. Freibergs worked as the representative of Creditinfo Latvija and he has also been the representative of MCB Finance Latvia. Ģ.Freibergs acquired his MBA degree at the William E.Simon Graduate School of Business Administration in Rochester University, USA.
Mr. Dunn has held position of Interim Finance Director at Northern Rock in the United Kingdom, when the Bank went through the restructuring process. Prior to that he has worked as Director of Business Performance Management in company Co-operative Financial Services, as well as has been Chief Financial Officer at the Bank of England and the global provider of secure financial messaging services S.W.I.F.T., as well as has gained experience in several other enterprises of financial system in Belgium and the United Kingdom.
As announced previously, bank Citadele launched its operations on 1 August 2010, with its registered equity capital is 103 million Lats. The bank is managed by the Board consisting of three members – Juris Jākobsons was approved Chairman of the Board while Valters Ābele and Guntis Beļavskis were approved as Members of the Board.
