Nordea has joined Citadele Bank’s joint cash deposit/withdrawal ATM network. Henceforth, Nordea customers will be able to make cash deposits using Citadele’s 17 cash deposit ATMs throughout Latvia, including those at the five biggest shopping centres in Riga: Galerija Centrs, Mols, Spice, Alfa and Damme. Therefore, customers of two different banks can now receive services from a single cash deposit-deposit/withdrawal ATM network.
As Nordea Latvia Branch’s Head of Retail Banking Department, Jana Strogonova explains, “Joining Citadele Bank’s network of cash deposit ATMs is part of Nordea’s strategy of offering its customers the widest possible remote banking options. It’s a way in which we can make collaborating with the bank even more convenient and efficient for customers. Moreover, not only surveys indicate it, but we also have real data which show that our clients want to receive the broadest possible range of services via the Internet and ATMs, thus reducing the time they spend at the bank’s branches. During the past year, the total number of Nordea ATM transactions has increased by almost 15%, and by nearly 20% within our friendly ATM network.”
Citadele Bank Board Member Kaspars Cikmačs says: “We’re delighted that from now on Nordea customers will also be able to use Citadele’s cash deposit ATM network. The Latvian public is increasingly using cash deposit ATMs, in appreciation of the speed and convenience of the service. The volume of monies deposited using Citadele Bank’s ATMs continues to grow – during the first five months of this year, it rose by 26%, compared with the corresponding period last year. By the autumn, we plan to increase the availability of the cash deposit service significantly, installing new cash deposit ATMs in Rīga and other Latvian cities. And we’re pleased that other banks also want to use them.”
Cash deposits can be made in lats using deposit/withdrawal ATMs. After being deposited, cash will be transferred to the accounts of Nordea Bank’s customers within a few minutes, if the deposit is made before 6:30 pm. Nordea Bank customers will only be able to make cash deposits using Maestro and MasterCard Business Debit brand cards, including USD and EUR currency cards. Significantly, this service is available at no additional commission charge.
At present, Nordea customers have access to 17 Citadele Bank cash deposit ATMs in Riga, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jūrmala, Liepāja, Tukums and Ventspils. In future, the cash deposit ATM network will be expanded.
We remind you that Nordea customers can also use their Maestro debit cards to make cash transactions at Citadele ATMs. In turn, Citadele customers can also use Nordea, GE Money Bank and Hipotēku Bank ATM networks free of charge.
