The Citadele Bank is proud to say that in support of educational programmes for children and young people, it has donated computer equipment at the beginning of this new school year to several educational institutions in the city of Rēzekne. The schools are the Jānis Ivanovs Rēzekne High School of Music, the Eastern Latvian Professional High School, and the “Zeimuļs” creative services centre of Eastern Latvia. Students at these institutions are already using the technologies which were donated by the bank.

The “Zeimuļs” centre was opened on September 1, and every day it brings together children and young people, as well as pedagogues from Rēzekne and Eastern Latvia for programmes that allow kids to spend their time in an educational, exciting and knowledgeable way. “Our creative centre is a place where children can take part in various studio projects outside of school, and they are very delighted about the computer which the bank presented to us,” says a representative of the centre, Alīda Silauniece.

The director of the Citadele Bank’s branch in Rēzekne, Maija Muceniece: “These gifts of computer technology represent more than just material assistance to educational institutions. We are thus helping young people in Rēzekne to expand their knowledge. We are very pleased that we were able to offer help specifically where it was needed.”

The director of the Jānis Ivanovs Rēzekne High School of Music, Sandra Mežore: “We have used the computers to update our computer classroom, as well as to equip our group education facilities and our library. The result is that the educational process has become considerably better both for our students and for our pedagogues.”

The director of the Eastern Latgale Professional High School, Benita Virbule: “We train various specialists for the labour market, including computer specialists who will use the computers from the bank to learn basic educational elements in our school’s new computer classroom.”
