Citadele Bank to be Decorated by People With Differing Abilities

Published on

For the fourth year in a row, the Citadele Bank is working with the “Saule” care and rehabilitation centre, where clients are producing Christmas decorations for the bank’s Client Service Centres. This year the decorations will feature Christmas trees made of wool.

“We have established very close and heartfelt co-operation with the employees and artists at ‘Saule,’ and they work very hard to ensure that the bank’s clients and employees can enjoy a holiday feeling,” says Citadele board member Santa Purgaile. “The ‘Saule’ care centre is another story related to our ‘You Are. You Can’ project, and that helps to change public attitudes toward people with differing abilities and the things that they can do.”

“The artists at ‘Saule’ do such outstanding work that their artworks have been displayed at the national level,” says “Saule” director Irīna Rulle. “We work with Citadele and other companies on various tasks, starting with coming up with an idea together with company representatives and ending with the actual products. The most important thing for our artists is to see that their work is appreciated and that people are glad about it.”

“Saule” is a non-governmental organisation for people with intellectual development problems. The organisation has a day care centre with an art studio at which clients can develop their skills at painting, graphic design, work with textiles, painting of silk and glass, weaving, macramé, jewellery design, metalwork, and so on.
