American Express Cardmembers in Latvia can now redeem their American Express Membership Reward™ points for cinema tickets at Kino Citadele box offices. Citadele is the only bank in Latvia to issue American Express Cards.
The new redemption partnership with Kino Citadele cinemas is the first time that American Express Cardmembers are able to redeem their points instantly at the moment of purchase for a service. It follows a successful pilot at Kino Citadele in Riga which was warmly welcomed by cinema goers and which saw a daily average of 15 cinema goers receiving cinema tickets in exchange for the points they earned through participation in the Membership Rewards program during the pilot period.
"Up to now, one could exchange the earned MR points for various prizes – from cinema tickets, coffee makers or food processors to restaurant and beauty treatment gift certificates, to magazine subscriptions. In the future, we plan to build on today’s launch and turn Membership Reward points into an actual payment option at different types of merchants," comments Andris Lazdiņš, Head of the E-Business Division of Citadele Bank.
"As we continue developing and introducing various innovative solutions, we wish to make the Membership Rewards program even more attractive and convenient for our clients. Exchange of points for cinema tickets takes place at the moment of purchase, and all that American Express card holders are required to do is inform the Kino Citadele box office staff that they wish to pay for their tickets by Membership Reward points before carrying out the payment," explains Mr. Lazdiņš.
To use this offer, clients must be American Express card holders, they must sign up with the MR program and accumulate points for all purchases they make using their American Express credit cards.
Membership Rewards is an internationally award winning loyalty program from American Express, designed for American Express® credit card holders, and it is available for American Express® Blue, American Express® Gold, The Platinum Card®, American Express® Business and American Express® Gold Business main and additional card holders. The Membership Rewards program awards points for all purchases made in Latvia, abroad or on-line using an American Express Card. Members receive 1 point for every euro spent.
