Updates to the rules of Citadele bank

Dear customers,

as of 1st August 2018, new rules of Citadele bank will take effect:

The rules were amended in view of the new version of the Law on Payments of the Republic of Lithuania, which was drawn up in accordance with the effective Second Payment Services Directive of the European Union and amendments to the General Data Protection Regulation.

Key changes to the rules:

  • The amount of an unauthorised payment operation will be reimbursed to the payer not later than by the end of the following business day, once we receive information about such unauthorised payment (does not apply in case of fraud on the payer’s side).
  • The amount of losses to be covered by the customer in case of an unauthorised payment operation performed using an unlawfully appropriated means of payment was reduced from EUR 150 to EUR 50.
  • In the event of termination of the General Agreement, the customer will be able to receive a statement of account for the past 36 months.
  • Natural persons engaged in economic, commercial or professional activities will be treated as consumers in terms of their protection in case of an unauthorised payment.

Please also be informed that as of 1st August 2018, we will not be performing OUR and BEN payments to the EU/EEA countries in any currency.
