Citadele and Visa to Continue Bringing Innovation to the Baltics

Published on

Since 2016, Citadele and Visa’s strategic partnership has made a variety of cutting-edge payment innovations available in the Baltics. Based on the previous successful collaboration, Citadele and Visa have prolonged their long-term partnership agreement to continue offering a safe, modern and secure global payment system and to bring even more payment innovations to Citadele clients in the Baltics.

Citadele in the Baltics is a strategic partner for Visa, providing customers with up-to-date payment services and innovations such as Apple Pay and payment rings. At the end of 2020, Citadele’s new subscription-based X cards were launched, the first in the Baltics to offer this.

‘’We are extremely excited to extend our partnership with Citadele in the Baltics, and we are very happy to see our market-leading innovations add value and convenience for Citadele’s clients, as well as bringing new payment flows to the Baltic markets,’’ says Riikka Salminen, Visa Country Manager for Sweden, Finland and the Baltics.

“Visa and Citadele share the same passion – innovations and the best customer service. Our clients appreciate the joint effort of Citadele and Visa to bring payment innovation to the Baltics. Our payment rings were sold out in a few days, and so far, almost 20 000 payments cards added to Apple Pay Wallet since launch. We are also proud to be the first in the Baltics to offer subscription-based payment cards, which give flexibility to every X card client,” says Vladislavs Mironovs, Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, Member of the Management Board at Citadele Bank.
