AS "Citadele banka" (Citadele) shareholders' meeting has today approved the issuance of EUR-denominated bonds under either its Second Senior Unsecured Preferred Fixed/Floating Rate Bonds Programme or its Sixth Unsecured Subordinated Bonds Programme with the type, size and terms of the issuance to be determined and approved by the Bank's Management Board.
The purpose of the planned issuance is to pre-fund the redemption of the Bank's outstanding EUR 40 million subordinated bonds callable in December 2026, support continued lending growth, maintain the Bank's funding base and loss-absorbing capacity, and ensure continued compliance with applicable regulatory capital and MREL requirements. The issuance would also support the maintenance of the Bank's current senior unsecured debt rating.
The issuance is expected to take place in the near future. More detailed information will follow after the approval of the prospectus or once it is determined that further disclosure is appropriate in accordance with applicable law.
